Why I Love The Internet

Has your favorite movie "nuked the fridge"? Film fans on the Internet coined the phrase to indicate the point at which a popular film franchise overstays its welcome.

The reference? Scenes from the latest Indiana Jones film, where Indy escapes nuclear fallout by hiding in a refrigerator. Let the disbelief — and the search for snark — begin.

"Nuke the fridge" started circulating on the Web soon after the movie came out May 22, and it's showing no signs of letting up. The phrase has an entry in the Urban Dictionary, and domain names like nukethefridge.com are being snapped up.
